Emerald Lake Lodge & Lake Louise Elopement | Ashley and Scott

I'm travelling to the Canadian Rockies again, and offering adventure session portraits around Banff, and Lake Louise at 50% reduced rate while I'm there. Gorgeous Kananaskis is in the foot hills of the Canadian Rockies, and was calling my name was last time I was close by (I also came within feet of wolf pack there).  I had flown out to meet two Australian's looking to elope in the hills, and document their journey. That was a trip I won't soon forget, and I need to do something like that all over again. That time is now, before it's too cold, before it's too much to wander those valleys and long views. I'm hoping I'll meet a few like-minded people to help make this adventure another awesome one. This is where you come in, I need you to come in ahead of time.

If you are engaged, maybe planning or wanting to elopement in the area, maybe just want to bring your handsome new boyfriend up the mountain side looking awesome, this is the perfect chance to create the kind of images you've always wanted. I want to help make this a real experience for you. This is going to happen late November, use the box below to get in touch.

Entrepôts Dominion Wedding Photography | Sarah and Steve

Entrepôts Dominion Wedding Photos

Say hello to Sarah & Steve, who flew in from Atlanta, for a sweet celebration with family and friends. Their Montreal wedding was held at the excellent Entrepôts Dominion, just along the Lachine canal in the trendy and happening neighbourhood of St Henri. We made their portraits on the windy rooftop, within art department walkways, empty walls that framed them in perfect ways, everything was easy with these two. One thing was certain, there was no one more sweet nor happier that day than Steve, who was glowing from the moment I shook his hand and said hello, to the farewell salute at the end of the evening.

These are the kind of classic, warm, just sweet images that make my heart happy to see. Watching them embrace their families, and catch up with old friends they way they did, you knew these were good people.

Click through a handful of these images below, and check out the Entrepôts Dominion website here to book your wedding at one of Montreal's best venues.

ps. lots of love to you both wherever you are today.

Evermore Wedding Photographer | Julia & Joseph

Julia and Joseph were married at a my new favourite venue, Evermore Weddings & Events, which is located on 45 gorgeous acres of farmland in Almonte, Ontario. Their celebration brought together their family and friends for a summertime outdoor wedding ceremony just a short drive from Ottawa, the city where Julia grew up before moving to NYC, where she met and fell in love with Joseph. Many close friends and family made the journey up from the states on one of the hottest days of the year, and surely one of the best days of the summer for everyone there.

The wide, open fields surrounding the farm were gorgeous, and perfect for Evermore wedding photos, but the family, guests, and excellent musical performance by Pleasure Craft (think of the ultimate 70's smooth rock party vibe) made that evening such a special one. Congratulations to you Julia and Joseph, unlimited love to you both.

I am so drawn to intimate outdoor celebrations like this one and others you can read about here, where the elegance is pure yet understated, decor is rustic and warm, smiles are everywhere all day, and best friends fly in from far away. The views around here are like a song. A big thanks to: Pleasurecraft & Evermore Weddings, and my travel partner Marlow for having my back and bringing that special foto-mojo.

Are you planning a wedding at Evermore and love the photos you've seen here? Click here to say hello.

Montreal Wedding Photography - a photographer's field guide

If we are meeting for the first time you should know that I am Micheal Beaulieu, a Montreal Montrealbased wedding and portrait photographerphotographer. I am always excited to hear from couples in the early stages of their wedding planning, looking for a photographer that gets them, understands them, and wants to help make their wedding day as amazing as it should be. I love to hear brides tell me that from their perspective there was no other photographer that even came close, and that moving forward with me as their photographer was an easy decision.

As photographers, we are responsible for creating the images our clients bring into their homes, but there are many other things we can do along the way to help make our couples wedding days truly amazing. I am really excited about the Found Focus Field Guide I am in the process of writing. This will be a guidebook for photographers looking for rewarding ways to create images that have more purpose, are more meaningful, and are a natural extension of one's most personal vision. A vision that happens to seamlessly echo exactly with what his/her couples are emotionally and visually drawn to.

This is a field guide that will encourage photographers to break the pattern of simply following trends in photography and begin to create woks only they could create. Clear-true-vision.

Photographers can sign up here to get on the newsletter which will keep everyone up to date with the release schedule. I promise this will be good.

Mont Saint Gregoire Adventure Session | Yidan & Marc, Engaged

Mont-Saint-Grégoire engagement photos adventure session.jpg

I promised Yidan & Marc Andre some beautiful views for their adventure session, and I did not let them down. At the time of writing this they have not yet seen their Montreal engagement photos, but have already told me they are more than impressed. We made many stops along the way of our climb up Mont-Saint-Grégoire, and I cannot wait to share this adventure session soon. My hat goes off to Yidan and Marc Andre for making it all the way to the top to take in a gorgeous view which was the highlight of my week.

Click through the images below to see more Montreal engagement photos and the view from the top.

One of the reasons my couples love the unique engagement sessions I plan and organize for them is really simple, they are crazy busy planning their own weddings, and looking ahead to their one time celebration with the people they care about and love most. They want a break from it all, and look forward to this surprise. I want them to have the best time of their lives on their wedding day, and we almost never spend more than 30 minutes for their wedding day portraits. This is why their adventure session is so important for them. During this session we make time to drive out to somewhere new and unknown, and forget about the planning, schedules, costs, decisions, and everything else taking up all their time, and get back to why they celebrating in the first place. They found love, and this is their story.

If you have a beautiful thing going and want to document your story, I want to hear from you. Get in touch with me using this form, and let's start planning your own adventure.
