SHOBAC COTTAGES WEDDING

A few frames from a Nova Scotia SHOBAC COTTAGES WEDDING in Kingsburg, NS, with Abigail & Pete, from Brooklyn, NYC. Weddings along the ocean or near Atlantic Canada are always amazing. Shobac cottages first looked to me like some lost village along the south shore of Nova Scotia, and I loved how wild the drive was to get there. The image top right is a restored historic Chebogue schoolhouse on land overlooking the Nova Scotia ocean coast, restored and designed by Canadian architect Brian MacKay-Lyons - who's projects at Shobac earned prestigious recognition within his community, and this site is a must-see within the Lunenberg county. Being invited and flown in to document the wedding ceremony, celebration, families, and closest friends of people like Abigail and Pete is why I love my job as a photographer. Being surrounded by the windswept hills, foggy terrain, and misty, rough coastline of this place is much more than inspirational, and definitely made for one of the most unique wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure to work with. My best work comes from these opportunities, and I feel a huge sense of gratitude and thankfulness for being chosen by my clients to play a part in this moment. No pressure there :)

"Again, I cannot fully describe to you how impressed we were with your photographs of our big day. You did exactly what we were hoping for. And lastly, thank you for being so friendly and courteous to our favourite people in the world, and by doing so, solidifying your place in our list of favourite people." Dustin Childers
