Montreal Elopement Photographer | Mount Stephens Club Wedding

Montreal elopement photographer

Daniel and Eunhwan, what can I say, these two make a photographer happy. Eunhwan was so sweet the whole day and would you believe that she even stopped to talk with birds? These two were just a breeze to work with. Fuji xpro-2, shot mainly with black and white in-camera jpegs - which are such a joy to work with. Intimate weddings and elopements have this quiet slow pace to them, and sometimes friends join in, and the relaxed vibe totally flips and you begin to capture all this raw emotion and the beauty of it all.

A few things about the Mount Stephens Club ~

This is a historic restored mansion was owned and used by McGill alumni for nearly 75 years. Lately it's become an interesting contender for wedding venues and a perfect destination for thirsty travellers downtown since bar George is such a gorgeous space. There are two outdoor terraces, and seven unique indoor event spaces. They have full service catering, post wedding brunches, and a luxurious ballroom too :). Bar services rank high at this venue, as after just a few minutes inside you may feel like changing your cocktail for an old-fashioned. This area is known by some as Montreal's golden square mile, but others just call it downtown. Le mount Stephen is a perfect venue for those not looking for help in the areas of event planning since guests say every room they walk into looks like you've walked into some old, smoky, dark mansion, with plenty of old hand painted portraits of old barons and land explorers. If you're hoping for an outdoor ceremony you'll need to plan a location elsewhere since there are no ground for that le mount Stephen. The city has 1000 gorgeous venues but Le mount Stephen is a special one for sure.

The groom, Daniel, was super looking forward to this day as many couples have been since covid had derailed so many plans for engaged couples lately. I set up and shot their first look, and it was beautiful to see. For a long time, the situation for wedding planning was not looking good, covid restrictions and business was pretty much shut down for wedding photography and wedding photographers. Their wedding day was pretty magical, so huge win for these two

Elizabeth ballroom check - dance floor no check.

True love is easy to find, but the dancefloor is another story. The rooms are not exactly dance floor friendly because the vibe is just a little 'more mature' than you'd imagine cranking anything by Megan The Stallion. That being said, you can see Montreal celebrate in other ways at le mount stephen. If you have an upcoming event and are interested in checking it out, swing on over to Bar George and enjoy the food and modern comforts :)
